Just Between You And Me (Just Between Me And Me, Just Between You And You)

"So this will be your room from now on." You rub the back of your neck, giving them a sheepish smile. "Sorry I can't give you back your original one. I'm, you know. Still using it."

The servant smiles, making a vague gesture of the hand. "It's fine, it's fine! I expected it. You are the real Ritsuka Fujimaru, after all."

"I am this world's Ritsuka Fujimaru," you correct with a smile of your own. The implications that either of you is more real than the other is deeply uncomfortable, and so you refuse to entertain it.

Ritsuka Fujimaru- the servant, the one who is not you- has a small laugh at that. "True, true. We are both Ritsuka Fujimaru."

You nod. "Anyways. Make yourself at home, and feel free to drop by if you need anything. Any stuff of mine is also stuff of yours, I don't mind sharing if you want anything for comfort purposes."

"Aw, you're sweet." They wink at you. "Don't worry too much about me, though. I know the facility and its people by heart. I was you at some point, remember?"

Fair, fair. Then you should let them get used to their new room, then. You turn around to leave. You have a long day ahead of you explaining everyone how you somehow summoned yourself-

"Hey." Your other self calls right as you're about to open the door. "Just so we're in the same page. You know, right?"

You pause, hand inches away from the handle.

"... You introduced yourself as a ruler. I will refer to you as such." You respond. A yes, in all the ways that matter, but you refuse to say it- and if this servant is anything like you, then they won't say it either. To word something out loud is to make it real. So long as no one states it, we can pretend.

The servant's smile softens. "We really are alike, huh? Ah, thank you though. It would have been a pain to explain to everyone. Believe it or not, I do want to help."

"I believe it." They are you. There are differences, obviously, but the core is the same. You will not ask, but if you had to guess, it would be this: they love Chaldea. They love its people. They love this humanity. Of course they would come to protect them. Of course they would come to help you.

Besides, denying a lostbelt is the same as destroying the humanity that has grown there. What better help could you ask for then, than that of a Beast?

Krisg142: That last line was a great twist
